An established venture capital firm wanted to think outside of the box.

 

 

Problem

A venture capital firm in Silicon Valley wanted to identify investment opportunities outside of the traditional technology sector. Even with their vast network, the firm was not able to generate quality leads outside of the Valley.

Solution

Tensile Co. examined the firm's investment history by industry, and shortlisted companies outside of North America in alternative sectors poised for accelerated growth. Mature startups in health and wellness, food and beverage, genomics, and manufacturing were shortlisted for growth equity deals. We led due diligence efforts on behalf of the firm, and final deal terms were presented.  

 Results

We helped close the investment within 60 days of the recommendation. The mutually favorable terms between the startup and the VC led to subsequent funding without solicitation from outside VCs.
